Welcome to our little patch of paradise!
Hastings Street is internationally known as Australia’s premier holiday destination. Famous for its north facing beach, pristine blue waters, a world famous National Park and river system, sophisticated shopping precinct boasting international and local labels and world class restaurants.
The Hastings Street Association, Inc. (HSA) was founded nearly 25 years ago. It was founded by a small group of unit owners and businesses to provide Information Services and to promote Hastings Street. The very first information centre was located near the bus stop and was staffed by volunteers and remained in operation until the formation of Tourism Noosa who subsequently took over the responsibility. Funding for the HSA then was done by weekly payments of a dollar collected by executive members…The HSA has come a long way since then.
The HSA of today is made up of unit owners, retail outlets and restaurants. While its primary mission is to promote Hastings Street to our over 1.7 million visitors each year, it actively oversees, through Council, the various levies charged to our precinct including:
- Hastings Street Security Levy
- Beach Maintenance and Restoration Levy
- Noosa Tourism Levy
- Hastings Street Streetscape and Maintenance Levy
The Hastings Street precinct pays a substantial amount of money to these levies… It pays over fifty percent of the overall Noosa Tourism levy and the majority of funds for the remaining levies. The HSA is your organization and your voice to monitor the amount, use and status of the levies that you pay.
The HSA erects the iconic Christmas tree each year and sponsors the tree lighting ceremony with carols and entertainment for locals and visitors alike. So many people now make it a ritual to come and be photographed alongside the ever changing colours of the famous Hastings Street Christmas tree. Funding for this tree is strictly by donations. Please help us light up the tree and our visitor’s faces again this year by donating. Your support is most appreciated.
